AC COACHES
All coaches have UK Athletics
qualification and are have been vetted for approval for working with children
by the club welfare and child protection officer with enhanced CRBS
disclosures.
It is the policy of the club
that all coaches must renew their licences in keeping with the requirements
of scottishathletics |
Joyce
Rammell
Joyce is a level 3 coach
who specialises in throws, principally shot putt, discus and hammer but
has been known to take on a javelin thrower. She is also partly qualified
to level 3 in multi-events.
Joyce is also a level 5
field judge and competes in veteran competitions, mainly in throwing events. |
Jim
Callander
Jim is a level 2 coach who
specialises in jumps but also coaches the beginner level athletes.
Jim is also a level 5 track
judge and officiates at UK level around the country |
David
Hood
David is working towards
his Level 3. He works mainly with the middle distance
runners and is producing some good endurance athletes. |
Willie
Mackintosh
Willie oversees the middle
distance group and takes his athletes far and wide to cross country and
track competitions. He is from a fell running background and is a qualified
level 2 coach.
He is a hard taskmaster and
his athletes are winning representative honours both on the track and road. |
Wullie
Boyd
Wullie is a level 2 coach
specialising in sprints who helps out with the younger athletes on Monday
nights. |
Pam
Robertson
Pam is another who coaches
at level 2. She works with the younger athletes and throws are her
speciality. Pam is also a field judge, level 3. |
Melissa
Robertson
Melissa is the newest coach
in the club. She has been added to the level 1 coaching list and
helps with the younger athletes at the Monday sessions as well as
assisting while doing a bit of training herself on Tuesday and Thursday.
Melissa is a Level 2 official
specialising as starter/marksman. |
Carol
Macmillan
Former club hurdles coach
Carol has rejoined the club along with her grand daughters and is keen
to become more involved. She will work with the younger Tuesday athletes
and hopefuly supplement the hurdles input of Gary McCracken. |
Fiona
Macmillan
Former athlete who has enrolled
as a coaching helper and as a former sprinter/hurdler will have valuable
tips to pass on to the young athletes. |
